About NY Delta's Scholarship Fund

NY Delta Scholarship Endowment Fund

This fund is used to support the chapter's scholarship and leadership efforts. The fund is manged by The Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity. Many employers will allow for matching gifts to the Educational Foundation. NY Delta currently uses the Scholarship Fund for several initiatives:

  1. The Outstanding Member of the Year Award
This award is presented to one deserving active brother each May during Clams. The scholarship is intended to reward those brothers who exemplify the principles and values of a Balanced Man and their shown their dedication and passion towards the chapter. Brothers submit an application and resume detailing their involvement in the chapter, at Rensselaer, and in the community. Winners are selected by the scholarship committee, composed of several AVC directors.

  2. The Balanced Man Scholarship
This scholarship is administered each Fall and offered to all incoming Rensselaer students. Applicants must be dedicated to academic excellence, leadership, and maintaining a sound mind and sound body. To apply for the scholarship, students must fill out an online application. Those with strong applications are selected for interviews with the undergraduate Balanced Man Scholarship Committee on campus. The committee learns about the candidates and introduces the candidates to SigEp on campus. Winners are selected by the AVC Scholarship Committee based on reccomendations from the undergraduate Balanced Man Scholarship Committee. Awards are presented each year the Annual Meeting held in October in conjunction with RPI's Reunion and Homecoming.
The information on the scholarship and to see past recipients, visit the chapter's Scholarship Website.

  3. Sigma Phi Epsilon Leadership Event Costs
The fraternity offers several different local, regional, and national leadership events designed not only to help brothers run a successful chapter, but to become stronger leaders for the rest of their lives. These events are not without their associated registration, travel, and lodging costs. We are able to help offset some of the costs of these essential leadership education opportunities with your donations to the Scholarship Fund. SigEp's Leadership Event continuum for undergraduates includes:
    Carlson Leadership Academy
    Life After College
    Ruck Leadership Institute
    Tragos Quest to Greece
    Grand Chapter Conclave
