NY Delta attends 2018 Carlson Leadership Academy
On February 10th, nine undergraduate brothers and six alumni headed to New Jersey for the annual Northeast Carlson Leadership Academy. The Carlson Leadership Academy provides interactive officer training to over 2,600 undergraduates and volunteers annually. Attending an Academy ensures that an undergraduate officer will have the skills to effectively lead the chapter to success. The program also helps executive boards work together to ensure they all have goals consistent with a unified vision for the chapter.
Alumni volunteers participated in educational sessions on topics including substance free housing, building a strong Balanced Man Program, maintaining corporate health, and improving chapter facilities.
The chapter was honored with three awards at this year's program:
Excelsior Award for Volunteers
New Volunteer of the Year Award - Brian Michalka '16
Distinguished Alumnus Award - Don Burgio '89
Attending Carlson Leadership Academy is a great way for our alumni to engage in meaningful conversations with our active members and with other chapters in our area. We return from the academy refreshed and ready to take on SigEp's new challenges. If you are interested in getting involved with the chapter again, Carlson is a great way to learn how. Contact any current AVC members to learn more about next year's program.
